Nora Shalaway Carpenter
Nora Shalaway Carpenter holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts as well as degrees in English literature and Classical studies. Her debut novel, The Edge of Anything (Running Press 2020) was a Kirkus Best YA book of the Year and she is the anthologist and contributor to the YA collection Rural Voices (Candlewick 2020), shattering assumptions about growing up in rural places.
After several years in DC, Nora currently lives with her husband and children in Asheville, North Carolina, where she’s hard at work on her second novel. She’s passionate about social justice and the environment, actively serving on two community boards that champion those values.
