Maria Padian

Maria Padian is the author of the acclaimed YA novel How to Build a Heart, a Kirkus Best YA Book of the Year, as well as Wrecked, Out of Nowhere and more. Before devoting herself full-time to fiction she worked as a news reporter, congressional aide, radio essayist and freelance writer. These days, she takes breaks from the computer to text her grown children, take long walks along the beach, feed logs into the woodstove or work on her (tennis) backhand. She lives in midcoast Maine.
