Kate Hosford graduated from Amherst College with a degree in English and Philosophy. Before becoming an author, she worked as an elementary school teacher, a foster care worker, and an illustrator. In 2011, she recieved her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her picture books are Big Bouffant, Big Birthday, Infinity and Me, Feeding the Flying Fanellis and Other Poems from a Circus Chef, and How the Queen Found the Perfect Cup of Tea. All of these are published by Carolrhoda Books, a division of Lerner Publishing. Her sixth picture book, Mama’s Belly, is coming out with Abrams in spring 2018. Kate lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and two sons.
